Sustainability in action

Sustainability

Good Food. Less Waste.

At Brubecks, sustainability is about practical choices that make a genuine difference. As a fresh food manufacturer, we look for ways to reduce waste, reuse resources and make better use of surplus wherever we can.

From Our Kitchen to the Farm

or the past eight years, every week, our fresh vegetable offcuts have been donated to a local farmer to feed his cattle.

Cabbage leaves, vegetable trimmings and other suitable produce that can't be used in our kitchen get a second life — and, as you can see, the cows are pretty happy about it!

Eight years. Every week. Less food waste. Some very happy cows.

Reuse Before Waste

We also keep useful materials out of landfill wherever possible. Cardboard boxes, eskies and food-grade buckets are made available for reuse, extending their life rather than simply throwing them away.

Food With a Purpose

Suitable surplus food is donated to Loaves & Fishes, supporting their work providing food and meals to people experiencing homelessness and others in need within our community.

It means good food that might otherwise go to waste can instead go where it is needed.

Always Looking for Better Ways

Across our kitchen and operations, we continue to look for practical opportunities to reduce waste, reuse materials and improve the way we use resources.

We know there is always more that can be done, and we're committed to continuing to improve.

Less waste. More purpose. Ridiculously Delicious.
